Charles Oliveira breaks silence after being stripped of LW title and says he "made weight" UFC's scales the night before
CHARLES OLIVEIRA has broken his silence after being stripped of the lightweight title for failing to make weight for his UFC 274 showdown with Justin Gaethje.
The Brazilian made history on Friday evening by becoming the first champion to be stripped of their title on the scales.
Do Bronx twice missed the lightweight title fight limit of 155lbs – coming in half a pound over in both his trips to the scale – but insists the UFC's scales he weighed in on the night showed otherwise.
He told TSN: "What happened is I made weight.
"I mean everybody knows I made weight on Thursday night. I made weight on the UFC scale.
"I'm just incredulous right now, it's unbelievable what happened. It happened to me, but not just myself, other people, other fighters."

Oliveira claims the Arizona Boxing & MMA Commission informed several fighters that the UFC's scales were incorrect but the news wasn't relayed to him.
He said: "We weighed in on the UFC's scales, it was the scale from the UFC.
"Then all of sudden we go back to it, nothing happened, and it was a kilogram up.
"So how does that happen? So this commission talked about the scales – they talked to other fighters but they didn't talk to us.

Former interim lightweight champion Gaethje had no issues making weight – coming it at 155lbs on the nose.
