Fans all say the same thing as as Bryan Gil leaves Tottenham to rejoin Sevilla on loan transfer until end of season | The Sun

TOTTENHAM fans have all reacted in the same way after Bryan Gil left the club to head back to Sevilla on loan.

The Spaniard, 21, arrived in North London from Sevilla in 2021 after Spurs paid £22million and Erik Lamela in a fee part-exchange deal.

But having played just 85 minutes over nine league games following his arrival at Tottenham, he returned to Spain on loan after striking a move to Valencia.

In the summer, he came back to the Lilywhites and, following injuries to Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, received a brief run in the team following the World Cup break.

He started the games against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace earlier this month, assisting for a Harry Kane goal at Selhurst Park.

But now he has been sent out on loan once more, with Sevilla being handed back the very player they received £22m and Lamela for just 18 months ago.

And fans are well aware of the irony of him returning to the club he left not so long ago.

Reacting on social media, one person said: ""So we sold Erik Lamela to Sevilla to help fund the signing of Bryan Gil…only to now send Gil to Sevilla. Our recruitment team is top notch 🙄".

Another added: "Great business! £22m and Lamela in exchange for Gil and yet somehow, Sevilla now have Gil. What an embarrassing club we are. Can’t even fork out the extra £2.5m for Porro. Absolute shambles".

A third responded: "Why don’t we just give Sevilla Kane and Son for free too? We gave them £22m, Lamela and Gil for nothing 🤷‍♂️".

And a fourth replied: "This shows how inept Levy and the board are. He has to go and our fans should be demanding it".

In the 18 months since his arrival, Gil has not scored any goals in 31 games for Spurs, assisting two.

He will now return to Sevilla where he registered four goal contributions in 21 appearances.

The LaLiga side are struggling down in 13th place in the Spanish top flight.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are facing a real fight to get back into the top four.

Antonio Conte's men are three points adrift of the Champions League places.

They are still in both the FA Cup and Champions League – where they will face AC Milan in the last-16.
