FIFA 21 announced with October 9 release date and special FREE pre-order bonuses including Career Mode at FUT – The Sun
FIFA 21 will be released October 9 – and you can get your hands on a series of incredible bonuses if you pre-order.
With the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X coming out later this year, EA Sports have revealed FIFA 21 will be available on both current and next gen consoles.
But what else do we know about the upcoming new release of the famous football video game franchise?
Take a look below…
WHEN IS IT OUT?
USUALLY at this time of year we're either in the middle of a major international tournament or twiddling our thumbs waiting for the return of domestic football.
But this year, not only is the league season still going, we're also being treated to the first look at some FIFA 21 gameplay footage.
The game is set to be released on October 9.
Should you pre-order the game with the more expensive Ulimate Edition or Champions Edition, you'll be able to play a few days early, from October 6.
EA Access (PS4, Xbox One) and Origin Access (PC) can get going even earlier – from October 1.
HOW CAN I PLAY IT?
AS ever, FIFA 21 will be available on its most-common consoles – the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It's expected to also be released on PC and Nintendo Switch, as it was on FIFA 20.
But now we can expect to get our hands on the most incredible Fifa ever, with the newest instalment available on the super-powerful PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Both consoles are set to be released around October or November – but for now, EA Sports have revealed October 9 is the release date for current generation consoles.
BUT WHAT IF I UPGRADE MY CONSOLE?
SO, you've bought FIFA 21 for your PS4 or Xbox One – and then decide your console needs an upgrade.
It's certainly something gamers will be considering, especially with Christmas coming up soon after the release.
Fortunately EA Sports are being incredibly generous – allowing gamers to upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 and X1 to XSX for FREE.
The upgrade must be made before the release of FIFA 22 with all FUT progress carrying over.
Career Mode progress will NOT be carried over, as it's a locally-saved game mode, rather than the online FUT mode.
WHAT ARE THE PRE-ORDER BONUSES?
ONE of the biggest bug-bears of FIFA fans in recent years is how EA Sports have focused so much on Ultimate Team and allowed Career Mode to suffer.
But from the latest information it seems as though they MAY be taking it more seriously this year.
One of the bonuses for pre-ordering is called "Homegrown Talent" – and automatically assigns a future star to the squad you take over as a manager.
If you take over a Premier League team you can expect an English youngster to drop into your youth team with a potential of 90+.
Should you control a LaLiga side you would earn a Spanish youngster with high potential and so on.
Let's take a look at all the pre-order bonuses in full…

SO, WHO'S THE COVER STAR?
WE'RE not sure, yet.
But with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe the key focus of the trailer, we can be pretty certain he'll be the FIFA 21 cover star.
Eden Hazard took the honour last year after two years of Cristiano Ronaldo and four years of Lionel Messi.
Wayne Rooney appeared on every cover from FIFA 06 to FIFA 12… the longest streak ever.
WHEN WILL BE FIND OUT MORE?
STICK the date in the diary for August.
EA Sports have promised more details on gameplay, Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs and Volta – the street football mode first seen in FIFA 20, in August.
Old-school, die-hard fans will be praying their wishes for an improved Career Mode will finally be met – rather than all focus poured into the money-making machine that is FUT.
