Fuming Cristiano Ronaldo kicks net in frustration after missing easy chance from 8-yards for Man Utd against Watford

CRISTIANO RONALDO was left kicking the net in anger after missing a sitter during Manchester United's clash with Watford.

On the hour mark, the Portuguese superstar found himself eight yards out with the goal at his mercy, but failed to convert the gilt-edged opportunity.

And he was reduced to whacking the net in frustration as he spurned the chance to break the deadlock.

Football fans on social media were gobsmacked by Ronaldo's wastefulness as they slammed him for the miss.

Speaking during the game, one person said: "So many chances wasted already. Never seen Ronaldo miss so many."

While another added: "I guess Ronaldo will first have to miss 100 clear chances before someone of authority realises he's a problem."

While someone else compared Ronaldo's misses to long-time rival Lionel Messi.

They said: "Ronaldo has missed more big chances in this match then Messi has received in this whole season."

And a raging Man Utd fan was left stunned by the wastefulness of both Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.

An angry rant on Twitter read: "It is absurd and unforgivable just how many clear chances United have missed in the last couple of months.

"Finishing has legit cost us 8 points. Bruno and Ronaldo the chief offenders."

Ronaldo has scored 15 goals in 29 appearances for the Red Devils so far this season.

And he has bagged several times at crucial points for the team, but has been culpable for missing big chances in recent weeks.
