Helen Chamberlain slams absolute farce BDO auction as iconic trophies are sold
TV presenter and darts fan Helen Chamberlain has slammed the BDO's auction of some of its most iconic trophies a 'farce' in an explosive post on social media.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed 38 pieces of silverware from the now defunct organisation were set to be put up sale across a number of auctions through March. Included were the World Masters titles in both men's and women's categories, as well as both Lakeside World Championship trophies.
One person who was clearly interested in the trophy sale was former Soccer AM presenter Chamberlain, but the darts fan was left unimpressed.

Chamberlain – who used to date former Premier League and World Matchplay star James Wade – made her feelings known to the auctioneers in a now deleted rant on social media. She wrote: "BDO trophy auction – absolute farce.
"They p****d about with the rules, introduced a snipe for the hole lot after auction closed, retracted that after complaints. S**t photos, zero descriptions. 4 minutes left on the on first plot – site has crashed."
The trophy haul went up for sale via Lambert Smith Hampton auctioneers, with bidding coming to a close at 1pm on Thursday.
Chamberlain has made no secret of her love for darts, and even boasts a live TV 180 to her name.
This came during her 22-year presenting stint on Soccer AM, as the 55-year-old landed an impressive maximum when a darts board was rolled out on set on one of the Saturday shows.
Her love for the sport also saw her date ex-boyfriend Wade between 2008 and 2010.
Speaking about rumours of the relationship and Chamberlain's keen interest in darts, Wade said in 2008. "Helen loves darts – perhaps that's why we get on so well – but people are putting two and two together and making seven.
"If they made five, they may be closer to the truth, or they may be a million miles away… who knows?"
