I'm an ex-boxing world champ who fought Amir Khan and has miraculously beaten cancer despite telling docs I was dying | The Sun

BOXING star Billy Dib has amazingly revealed that he is cancer free after four rounds of chemotherapy.

Dib, who fought Amir Khan for the WBC International welterweight title in 2019, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma last October.

The 37-year-old tweeted last week that he would find out on Monday whether he was in remission.

And scans revealed the brilliant news that he is now cancer free.

Dib shared the incredible revelation in heartwarming fashion.

He posted a short clip of his beaming young son Laith holding a handmade sign.

It read: "Hi guys. My dad is in remission."

Alongside the video, Dib wrote: "AlhamdAllah (thanks to God), I received the most beautiful news today.

"My scan came back clear of cancer. I am so grateful, blessed, happy and relieved.

"Thank you God, my health team, my family and all of you, for your prayers, encouragement and support to help me get here."

Dib received plenty of well wishes following his fantastic update.

Eddie Hearn replied to his post: "That is the greatest news Billy! ❤️"

Fellow boxer Ben Day added: "Yes Billy I’ve been watching your heartfelt journey and now I happy to hear this amazing journey, God has a plan for you ❤️x"

Sports presenter Michelle Joy Phelps tweeted: "Amazing news!!!"

Dib harrowingly revealed back in October that he felt like he was "dying".

He told Wide World of Sports: "They sent me off for a scan but it showed something very little.

"They told me not to worry about it and gave me some medication. But then the following days I was feeling really sick and I went to Canterbury Hospital.

"They put me on morphine and they sent me home and said, 'I need to do a scan'. And then when I called to get the scan done the next day, they said, ‘Sorry we can’t get you in until Monday.’

“I told them, ‘I’m dying. I need help, please.’ They said, ‘Sir, if you’re dying, call the hospital'."

Dib possesses an impressive 48-6 record as a pro boxer.

He became IBF featherweight champion in 2011, beating Jorge Lacierva to claim his belt.

Dib went on to defend his strap against Alberto Servidei, Eduardo Escobedo and Juan Antonio Rodriguez.

The impressive Aussie later took on Khan in Saudi Arabia, but was beaten by the Bolton bruiser.
