UCLA’s Rachel Garcia capped off a 179-pitch day with a heroic walk-off homer

The UCLA softball team is going to the NCAA championship of the Women's College World Series thanks to one of the most heroic games from a star player that you'll ever see.

Because what junior pitcher Rachel Garcia did Sunday against the Washington Huskies was ridiculous.

First she struck out 16 batters and threw 179 pitches while not giving up a run in the 10 innings.

Then she stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 10th inning and punched UCLA's ticket to the championship series, where they'll play either Oklahoma or Alabama, with a monster three-run homer that gave the Bruins the 3-0 victory in an instant classic.

Check out this home run:

Give it up for Rachel Garcia with the performance of the day in any sport today. Bravo lady Bruins.16 ko's y'all!!Give it up for such a great world series on behalf of the collegiate ladies.Great showing,I hope more people will tune in and witness greatness in action.

Let's not forget she threw damn near 200 pitches as well.

Lisa Fernandez's stats and accolades speak for themselves but I didn't watch her play in the 90's.

Rachel Garcia is definitely the best Women's softball player that "I" have ever seen.
