Watch Kosovo manager Bernard Challandes scream on TV in amazing tunnel meltdown during England’s 5-3 victory in Euro 2020 qualifier – The Sun

KOSOVO manager Bernard Challandes was caught screaming on TV during an amazing meltdown in the tunnel during  England’s 5-3 victory on Tuesday night.

TV cameras followed the eccentric Kosovo coach down the tunnel as he ranted about the decision to let Jadon Sancho’s second goal stand.

Challandes, 68, was furious because he believed it should have been chalked off for offside.

He shouts “Terrible” as he stomps around in a rage, before clocking the TV cameras and flashing a smile.

Challandes appeared to have been sent off as he remonstrated with the fourth official after the goal.

But he emerged on the touchline for the second half, having taken himself off down the tunnel early.

England ran out 5-3 winners in an extraordinary Group A qualifier at St Mary's Stadium, Southampton.

Valon Berisha gave 120th-ranked Kosovo the lead after 35 seconds but England hit back seven minutes later through Raheem Sterling's header and the rampant hosts led 5-1 at the interval with a double for teenager Sancho.

England, who conceded three at home for the first time since 2012, lead the group with a maximum 12 points having scored 19 goals in the process.

Kosovo dropped to third with eight points, one behind the Czech Republic who beat Montenegro 3-0 away.

After the game Challandes was upbeat despite the defeat.

Challandes joked it was a shame that Sterling was not Kosovan – "it's impossible to play against him or you do a foul" – and was pleased with his side's display at St Mary's.

"OK, we have decided to try to play football, to take risk and we have seen in the first half how strong England is," the Kosovo head coach said.

"We have tried, we have played, we have also lost some unnecessary balls and we have paid immediately because the counters of England were very, very beautiful.

"Our idea was immediately to press England for surprise and, OK, we win this ball – or they give us the ball – it's 1-0. It's perfect for us.

"But after clearly England were very strong and played a very good half.

"Second half was good for us. If I do British humour, we have won 2-0 and who has won 2-0 against England in one half? Who is the last team?"

Kosovo, who had been on a 15-match unbeaten run coming into the England game, will still believe they can qualify for their first tournament finals, just four years after gaining international status from world soccer's governing body Fifa.
