50 Cent age: How old is Power star 50 Cent?

Power Book III: Raising Kanan: Starz releases trailer

Curtis Jackson has played an integral role in the journey of Power. From working behind the scenes on the plot with creator Courtney Kemp to starring as violent drug dealer Kanan Stark, Jackson – also known as 50 Cent – has been a major part in bringing the Starz drama to life. While Kanan Stark is no more, Jackson continues to work hard on the evergrowing franchise.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Power.

Kanan was the arch-nemesis of James “Ghost” St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick) throughout the majority of the original Power series.

This was until Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) and Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr) worked to get rid of him for good.

The mother and son duo set up Kanan, giving a tip-off for his whereabouts to the police.

There was then a major shootout where Kanan took out most of the officers but was still hit.

He did try to drive off but he keeled over in pain at the wheel and subsequently crashed his car into a pole, leading to his death.

Kanan may be dead but Jackson’s part in the Power series is far from over.

He continues to work alongside Kemp in creating the four new spin-off series.

Power Book II: Ghost came out last year and won’t be ending any time soon with a second series already being given the green light.

The next spin-off show will be Power Book III: Raising Kanan which will tell the story of the character’s childhood and how he got involved in the drug world.

The upcoming drama will be set in the 1990s with actor Mekai Curtis playing the young version of Kanan.

How old is Power star 50 Cent?

Prior to his involvement in Power, Jackson had a flourishing career as rapper 50 Cent.

He sang hits such as In da Club, Intro, Many Men, Just I Lil Bit, Window Shopper and 21 Questions.

As a result of the popularity of his music, 50 Cent won numerous awards, from the Billboard Music Award for Top Artist in 2003 and 2005 to a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 2010.

While he did make it big as a rapper, as Jackson has got older he has turned his attention more to acting and producing.

Jackson was born on July 6, 1975, which means the rapper, actor and producer is now 45-years-old.

He is roughly the same age as the majority of the cast on Power, including creator Kemp who is 43-years-old.

Hardwick is 47, Joseph Sikora who plays Tommy Egan is 44 and actress Naughton is slightly younger at 36-years-old.

Of course, Rainey Jr is the youngest out of the main cast at just 20-years-old.

Jackson is one of the masterminds behind Power and the new spin-off series.

As Power Book III revolves around his character Kanan’s backstory, fans believe he may make an appearance in the new show.

Jackson has yet to confirm if he will feature in Power Book III at all.

The drama is expected to begin sometime in the summer of 2021.

Power is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
