A Place In The Sun’s Lee Juggernauth was tasked with finding a holiday home in Spain’s Costa Blanca for his guest Harriet on the Channel 4 property hunting show. However, the property developer was soon left horrified on Monday’s instalment of the show when Harriet refused to look around one of the homes he picked out for her. She branded the apartment as “claustrophobic” and matter-of-factly told Lee it “wasn’t doing it for me”.
The 34-year-old presenter had his work cut out trying to find his guest Harriet her dream Spanish holiday home within her £110,000 budget.
The search got off to a rocky start as Harriet admitted to Lee the first property he’d selected out during the episode “needed too much work done to it” and was “too small” for her.
A frustrated Harriet also thought the apartment “needed updating”, and her friend who accompanied her on her property search was quick to agree.
Lee hoped his second choice would be a better fit for Harriet’s needs, but he was left mortified when she tore it apart within minutes.
The second property included a balcony, living and dining room, a kitchen, three bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom.
Harriet agreed to take a look inside the living room and Lee asked her what she thought of the interior.
She bluntly replied: “No, definitely no. This feels claustrophobic.
“I know what you’re saying that it’s a bigger living space [than the first property] but I can see the kitchen from here and there would be no kitchen left if I knocked that wall out.
“It’s still too small, and I don’t like the arches and the little rooms.”
Harriet explained she wanted a home that had a large amount of space so she could socialise with her friends and family.
“I’m not into ultramodern but this is a little bit dated for me,” she added.
When Lee asked if she wanted to explore the rest of the property, Harriet assertively replied saying “no” as it “wasn’t doing it” for her.
The third and fourth properties also failed to impress Harriet, so Lee had all of his hopes pinned on the firth and final apartment.
Luckily Harriet told the host the property was an “improvement on all of them” as she liked how the home was more spacious than the others she’d seen.
However, Harriet then refused to see the bedrooms of the house as she suddenly said she “couldn’t see myself living here” because of the busy location.
Lee appeared disheartened by Harriet’s lack of enthusiasm about any of the five properties he hoped she’d want to purchase.
The day after the viewings Harriet explained to Lee that she would not be putting in any offers on the properties he showed her, but told the presenter she appreciated his help.
Her search for an ideal holiday home will continue without Lee.
A Place in the Sun continues weekdays on Channel 4, and episodes are available on All4.
