A Place in the Sun’s Jasmine left in tears as pair buy dream home: ‘Could not be happier’

A Place in the Sun: Jasmine cries as couple accept offer

Wendy and Lee accompanied Jasmine to the sun-soaked Spanish location of Costa Blanca in the hopes of bagging the dream property for themselves and their two teenage children. The search was an emotional one for both prospective buyers, with Wendy confiding in the A Place in the Sun host how a cancer battle led to her and her husband admitting it was “now or never” to bag their dream property on the Channel 4 show.

Now in remission, Wendy and her other half Lee were in the lookout for a four-bedroom property in a rural location for them to enjoy with their children.

And Jasmine appeared to deliver, with two stunning properties considered contenders by the time the trio got back together at the end of the show.

The third property, a four-bedroom bungalow on the market for around £148,000, received a “10 out of 10” as soon as Lee stepped foot on the driveway.

And the final property, a four-bedroom house with a sauna, also sent excitement levels sky-high, with Lee joking: “What are you doing to us?”

Eventually, it was the third property which became the favourite and Jasmine was delighted to put an offer forward for the two.

Lee and Wendy initially offered £136,000 which was rejected but settled with the owner on an offer of £139,000.

With it falling well within their £150,000 budget, the two accepted and it didn’t take long for the emotions to get the better of everyone.

“I’m gonna cry,” Wendy laughed after having already let the tears flow twice earlier in the show.

And Jasmine was similarly tearful as she replied: “Oh, my goodness. Shall I call her now? This is just so exciting.”

The A Place in the Sun host regained her composure to confirm the deal before sharing a heartwarming moment with the couple.

“Congratulations, I’ve got to give you a hug. I’m so happy for you. Honestly, it’s amazing,” she gushed.

Lee soon heaped the praise on the Channel 4 property expert: “We’ve got to thank you as well.”

“It’s a real privilege,” Jasmine responded, prompting Lee to say: “We couldn’t have done it without you.”

Jasmine then held her hand to her face to try and stop herself from crying.

And as Jasmine delivered her final thoughts on the property search and Lee and Wendy’s time with her, she delivered a heartwarming message.

“After everything that Wendy and Lee and their family have been through,” she began. “I could not be happier for them.”

She added: “They found their dream home in Spain and they’re ready to start their new life.

“I wish them the best of luck.”

Fans will have to tune in tomorrow to see if another house hunter will be able to also find their dream home in the sun.

A Place in the Sun continues weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
