Arsenal footballer Ian Wright 'in talks of joining I'm A Celebrity'

Arsenal football legend Ian Wright is the next rumoured name to be joining the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! lineup.

Yes, after watching Harry Redknapp take the crown in last year’s show, it said the sportsman is now fancying his chances at going down under.

When chatting to The Sun, sources close to the 55-year-old claimed the Match Of The Day pundit has been offered a six figure sum to head into the jungle.

They told the publication: ‘Ian would be a massive signing for ITV who’ve been keen to get him Down Under for a while.

‘After watching Harry Redknapp win the last series, Ian has decided he would be up for giving it a whirl.’

They added: ‘Ian’s not afraid of much but has joked to his pals he’ll be useless at the eating tasks because he’s so fussy.’

We think we’d be the same…

However, it seems everything is just rumours at the moment, as an ITV spokesperson told ‘Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.’

Last year’s competition saw Harry Redknapp take the crown after he won over viewer’s hearts with his lovable anecdotes about his wife Sandra.

Earlier this month, the 72-year-old confessed he almost dropped out of the show after his soulmate fell ill with sepsis.

When talking to Piers Morgan on his ITV Life Stories programme, the football manager opened up about the thought of losing Sandra, and how it was too much to handle.

He said: ‘I nearly pulled out. I said, “Look, obviously I’m not going to go to Australia and do a show if she’s not well.”

‘It was scary. If she hadn’t of got the ambulance that night she would have been in desperate trouble. So that was the saver, really.’

When asked if he was worried about the thought of losing his partner of 52 years, he added: ‘I couldn’t think about that… I couldn’t.

‘Thinking about it, I couldn’t handle that. I just couldn’t.’

The duo have been together since they were 17-years-old, and their relationship was the real star of I’m A Celeb 2018, as Harry couldn’t stop praising his wife to camp.

Speaking to Fleur East, Sair Khan and Noel Edmonds while in the jungle, Harry said: ‘Honestly, she’s my life.’
