Newcomer Gareth Pierce will play Todd Grimshaw and dangerous criminal Mick Costello is after him.
Mary Taylor (played by Patti Clare) and another newcomer George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), believe faking his own death is the best they can do to keep him out of harm's way.
As you may guess, the plan does not go according to plan and Sue believes Eileen is not impressed by the series of events.
She chuckled: "Sue giggles as she told the Daily Star: "She's just like, 'Have you lost the plot?' [It's] the most horrific and stupid idea she's ever heard, and she tells them.
"She just thinks they're absolute d*******s. She can't believe it.
"She turns up outside the florists and there is the coffin and the flowers with ‘Todd' written along the side, Mary is in a veil and they're saying, 'Right come on we're going for the funeral now.'"
Despite the wacky ideas, Sue enjoyed shooting the scenes as she added: "They were very, very funny scenes to film."
Back in July, Corrie recast Todd Grimshaw' after Bruno Langley was axed from the role.
The character was written out of the ITV soap after Bruno, 37, was convicted of sexually assaulting two women in a bar in Manchester in 2017.
New soap star Gareth said of his new role: "I’m thrilled to be joining such an iconic show, and to have been entrusted with taking Todd forward into some really exciting storylines.
"It’s an honour to be part of the dedicated Coronation Street team in such unprecedented times."
