Coronation Street's Hashim actor Vincent Ebrahim has surprise connection to rival soap – but did you recognise him?

CORRIE fans have been delighted by the surprise return of Zeedan Nazir to the cobbles, and next week a familiar face arrives in pursuit of him.

Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) is shocked when his father-in-law Hashim arrives in Weatherfield and starts to issue demands.

The actor who plays him is a TV regular, with Vincent Ebrahim having starred in a number of hit shows and other soaps.

Stern faced Hashim is out to get Zeedan for cheating on his daughter.

Zeedan recently split from his wife, Hashim's daughter Mariam, and revealed he'd had an affair.

Now her family want revenge, having taunted Zeedan and beaten him up, as well as threatening to kill him.

Viewers may have seen Vincent prior to his Corrie debut.

Soap fans might recognise him from his role in Hollyoaks, as Big Bob in seven episodes in 2014.

An associate of villain Trevor Royle, nasty Bob took hostages in a siege at the hospital resulting in the shooting of Freddie Roscoe.

Fans of hit BBC spy drama Killing Eve, starring Jodie Comer, Sandra Oh, and Fiona Shaw, may also recognise him as he played Mike in season three.

Vincent also starred as Ashwin Kumar in The Kumars in 2014, having played the same character in the original series The Kumars at No. 42 between 2001 and 2006.

Having also starred and voiced characters in films, including Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, he has had roles in popular TV series including Doctors and Casualty too.

Looks like Zeedan is up against a formidable foe.
