Coronation Street’s Julia Goulding recently welcomed her baby daughter with her partner Ben and has been on maternity for the last couple of weeks. Her character remains in the soap for now, but her exit is looming and has had fans fearing for her fate as Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) continues his schemes.

Over the past year, Stephen has been scheming to steal all of his mother’s money and run off leaving the family with nothing.

However, things took a turn for the worse when Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) began to speculate what Stephen was up to and ended up being Stephen’s first victim.

Shona and David Platt (Jack P. Shephard) have also been contending with their son Max Turner (Paddy Beaver) who has begun to walk down a dark path.

Shona is set to exit the soap in upcoming scenes and fans have been worried that Stephen may have something to do with it.

In 2020, Julia headed on maternity for the birth of her first child, and Shona was shot and left in a coma for the duration of her leave.

Shona ended up leaving the street for rehabilitation, before returning, later on, to continue her life with David and their children.

However, this time it seems it won’t be as horrific for the family as Jack P. Shephard revealed the “run of the mill” way in which Shona will exit Weatherfield.

Speaking exclusively to and other press, when asked if Shona will be Stephen’s next victim, Jack explained: “No no no she’s not, it’s not dramatic at all.

“I can tell you she goes off to look after Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie) in London, she is doing some football soccer tournament thing.

“She needs a chaperone and she goes, ‘I’ll help, I’ll do that in London for six weeks’ while she goes off on Maternity leave.

“Because the last time she went off on maternity leave she got shot, she had brain damage, so what are we gonna do? Are we gonna do that again?

“So no it is just going to be run of the mill, she goes off, she comes back.”

Taking to her Instagram to announce the birth of her daughter, Julia wrote: “On Saturday our little girl arrived.

“We’re absolutely elated and Franklin is besotted with his little sister, Emmeline Beanie Silver. She’s perfect.”

Her co-stars were quick to congratulate the pair on their daughter’s arrival, with Charlie De Melo commenting: “So so pleased. Mozel tov!”

Paddy Beaver added: “The most amazing news!” followed by love heart emojis.

Alexandra Mardell said: “Congrats how gorj!!!”

In June of 2022, Julia shared the news that she was expecting her second child as she unveiled her bump on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards.

She and her husband Ben previously welcomed their first child, named Franklin Wolf Silver, in 2019.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
