Corries Alexandra Mardell wows fans as she posts stunning hair transformation

Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell has wowed fans with her incredible new hair transformation.

The northern actress, who plays the role of Emma Brooker on the hit ITV soap, revealed her gorgeous new 'do on social media this week.

The 28-year-old ditched the short curls and opted for a fresh new look for the summer as she showcased her sleek braids online while she soaked up the sun last Tuesday.

As the star headed out to The Lowry theatre in Manchester, the Yorkshire lass was flooded with compliments for her new look which were decorated with beautiful clasps and flashed her ombré tips.

As she posed in the afternoon sun, the brunette bell donned a striped black jumpsuit which highlighted her long luscious locks that now reached the middle of her back.

She teamed the ensemble with a pair of well-loved trainers and accessorised the look with some delicate silver earrings.

And the star opted for a fresh face for the summer outing as she flaunted her flawless skin which glowed on camera.

She captioned the snap: “Long walks with long locks,” as she took a quick stroll before she went to watch Anna X with her fiancé Joe Parker.

And fans soon flooded her Instagram feed with compliments over her new locks which viewers can’t wait to see her rock on the soap.

One user wrote: “Omg love your hair like that,” while another agreed: “Love your hair, it really suits you.”

A third chimed in with: “I hope you can wear it like that on Corrie,” as another pondered: “Love the hair! Will your Corrie character sport the same style or do you have to keep your lovely curls?”

But it wasn’t just fans who were blown away with her updated style, as her celebrity friends couldn’t help but love the new look.

Former co-star Katie McGlynn, who currently stars on Hollyoaks and will compete in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, wrote: “Hair,” with a fire and a love heart emoji.

Sally Carman, who portrays the role of Abi Franklin in the ITV soap added: “Gorgeous,” while Natasha Blakeman star Rachel Leskovac penned: “Beaut.”

Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby simply connected with a heart emoji, while Kimberly Hart-Simpson added three fire emojis.

This comes after the actress announced that she was engaged to her long-term boyfriend Joe after he proposed during lockdown.

Alongside pictures of the happy couple, Alexandra shared the exciting news on Instagram to her 114,000 followers.

She captioned the momentous occasion: “Love locked down!! 100,000 times yes! You make me so happy, my face hurts! Love you ridiculously. Future Mrs Parker.”
