Countryfile viewers in stitches as host told ‘spread your legs’ by photographer
Rude-minded Countryfile viewers have been left creasing after a wildlife photographer told the show’s presenter to “spread her legs”.
Ellie Harrison was being taught the best pose to adopt when attempting to take pictures of birds by naturalist Simon King, on Sunday's episode (December 26).
He told her to “become a tripod”, saying: “The faster you can get your shutter speed to work then the more likely you are to freeze movement.”
Simon demonstrated the action before Ellie tried it herself – to little success.
“That movement is quite hard,” she said. “You’re sort of holding your camera then realizing you have to be moving constantly.”
But it was Simon’s next piece of advice that had viewers creasing.
“This is the other thing, make yourself into the stabilising device,” he said.
"So what you're doing, get your elbow, tuck it in here, spread your legs a bit, like that, be that tripod, and then use your body to do the track."
Before long, Twitter was awash with viewers’ hilarious comments.
“‘Spread your legs Ellie’ – this photographer doesn’t waste any time,” one wrote.
Another said: “Simon telling Ellie to spread her legs. Oooh Matron.”
“Spread your legs a bit?” a third added. “He’s getting fresh.”
And a fourth commented: “‘Spread your legs Ellie’. Er, okay, Simon.”
Countryfile is the country’s most-watched factual TV show with 6 million viewers.
Another presenter on the show, Helen Skelton, recently set tongues wagging after popping on a teeny bikini for a dip in a river.
And she previously opened up about having the “weirdest” summer following the coronavirus pandemic.
