A CRISP addict is left horrified after learning the impact of scoffing 80 bags a week on Extreme Food Phobics.
The W series sees Dr Ranj Singh meet members of the public who struggle to eat a wide variety of foods, to the detriment of their health.
In an upcoming episode, media studies teacher Lee, 34, is worried about his physical and mental wellbeing after years of surviving on chips, beans and snacks like crisps.
He says: "For as far back as I can remember, my diet has always been very, very fussy."
Admitting he could have up to 80 bags of crisps a week, Lee adds: "The proposition of trying something new is genuinely terrifying.
"I'd rather have a go at cage diving with a great white shark off the coast of cape town than try broccoli."
As he meets with Dr Ranj, he is shown a cupboard full of crisps which would equal three weeks worth of snacks for him.
He says: "Seeing it in excess does make me think how much longer can I go on doing that as it is going to have some ramifications at some point."
Dr Ranj then explains exactly what those ramifications could be if he didn't expand his diet, saying: "The way you eat is going to limit your life and take years off your life."
He explains how his crisps addiction was increasing his salt intake, and "too much salt means the body holds on to fluid, so the heart has to pump harder and that pushes up your blood pressure, which puts you at risk of heart failure, heart attacks, strokes. It's not good news."
Lee agrees he needs help and meets with the show's team of experts to try and overcome his phobia of food.
By the end of the programme he is able to try things including ham, kiwi, mango and spaghetti bolognese.
Lee is thrilled and says: "The fact that I can put something in my mouth and try it is blowing my mind.
"I feel completely different, I'm buzzing. I have tried more food today than I have in easily 30 years, and I'm only 34."
