EastEnders fans floored as Jean predicted Lily and Ricky Jr twist 12 years ago in resurfaced clip

EastEnders viewers have been left floored as Jean Slater actually predicted Lily and Ricky Jr's storyline 12 years ago.

In a resurfaced clip, which has been shared by eagle-eyed soap fans on social media, it sees Jean speculate that Lily and Ricky Jr could become sweethearts in the future.

It comes as pregnant, Lily, 12, finally revealed who her baby's father is on Wednesday's episode, claiming that it was Ricky Jr, also 12.

In the resurfaced clip, Stacey Slater enters the Queen Vic while carrying a then newborn Lily.

To which Peggy Mitchell, played by the late Dame Barbara Windsor, rushes over and gushes over Lily.

She says: "Oh you could make it – and you've brought the little one! Oh, she's a pretty little thing, isn't she?"

To which Jean teases: "You never know, your grandson and our Lily might become sweethearts one day. Imagine that? Another Slater and Mitchell wedding!"

With Peggy replying: "There's no harm in dreaming, is there?"

Jean then heads over to Ricky Jr's mother, Sam Mitchell, played by Danniella Westbrook at the time before Kim Medcalf took over the role, asking: "How's your baby?"

To which Sam replies: "Oh he's round at Jack and Ronnie's. Mum thought I deserved a little night off."

Viewers were left floored over the resurfaced clip as one person said: "So guys, idk if you guys noticed this but back in 2010, Jean predicted this, Lily and Ricky jr getting with each other #EastEnders."

A different account put: "Jean predicted Lily and Ricky back in 2010! #EastEnders!"

While another gobsmacked viewer added: "That’s insane haha!"

It comes as Wednesday's episode saw Stacey grilling her daughter Lily about who the baby's dad is.

And after seeing Lily wave to Ricky Jr from the window, a desperate Stacey begged: "Lily, please, if it is Ricky… just tell me."

She added: "Please darling, at least then I will know that you haven't been abused and groomed by some pervert!"

Jean then got involved as she said: "This isn’t going to go away and you know that," adding: "So please put your mum's mind at rest, even if it's just for me…"

To which an emotional Lily revealed: "He's not my boyfriend, we only did it once…" as Stacey asked: "So it is Ricky?"

With Lily crying as she added: "Yeah, but he can never know!"

Soap watchers had previously predicted that Ricky could be the dad after some "pretty clear" hints in past episodes.

However, some viewers were still not convinced that Ricky is the dad and that Lily perhaps felt pressured to say so due to Stacey.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "It's not him I think she's lying."

A different account put: "I’m not having any of it! The more I think of it the more I think she’s protecting someone. #Eastenders."

While another follower wrote: "Yeah and that’s why she said he can’t know! Stacey and Jean gave her that name and she just nodded along."

Soap fans had previously guessed it could be Denzel Danes, 14, who is romantically involved with Lily's friend Amy, in another twist while other viewers think Davinder 'Nugget' Gulati, 14, could be the dad

While more recently, some viewers had predicted a horrifying twist on the BBC One soap.
