EastEnders fans horrified at Max and Linda kiss cliffhanger

EastEnders fans have been left horrified after Max Branning (Jake Wood) snogged Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in a strange twist.

After the pair grew close in lockdown, it seems things have got heated between them, with Linda betraying her husband Mick (Danny Dyer) as the two shared a kiss during a night out.

In tonight’s episode, Max witnessed Linda take a sip of alcohol during a moment of weakness, when she found herself sick of being watched by her husband, who is trying with all his might to help her stay away from the bottle.

Horrified by her actions, Linda opened up to Max about her drinking problems, before Max planted one on her.

Clearly feeling the guilt, Linda high-tailed it out of there, but it was too little too late for some fans, who have been left stunned by Max’s gift with the ladies.

‘Does Max have a bet with someone where he needs to kiss or bed every woman on the square?’ one asked.

‘I’m STUNNED! The amount times Linda has had ago Mick over Whitney. But tonight she ends up kissing MAX! I guess one rule for her & another for Mick. I’ll always love Mickney,’ another added.

One more said: ‘Max & Linda I hate it here.’

Big mood.

Putting Walford’s answer to Casanova aside for a moment, it was an impressive moment for the soap considering the social distancing measures that are in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Completely forgot about social distancing, they did that kiss so well,’ one fan asserted, while another added: ‘The camera trickery / social distancing cheats are a bit mind blowing tbf … you actually forget when your watching that anything is different. so clever !!’

Executive producer Jon Sen previously told Metro.co.uk of the kiss scenes: ‘The perspex screens that we use: you can bring people closer together and that’s really good as it gives an intimacy to the performance that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

‘We use plate shots which are basic CGI shots, really, where you have two people — who, in the final scene you’ll see them sitting at the same table, but actually they’ve been filmed in isolation.’
