EASTENDERS star Patsy Kensit revealed she has left the soap as Emma Harding as she wraps filming – but is the door left open?

The actress, 54, joined the BBC soap as Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) mum Emma Harding earlier this year.

Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) tracked her down after Lola said she wanted her mum at her wedding.

Since arriving in Walford, she has learned of daughter Lola’s incurable brain tumour.

She is determined to make the most of their time together for however long they have left.

Emma has been splashing the cash to treat her daughter and granddaughter Lexi with a trip to Disneyland.

Patsy took to Instagram on Monday to reveal she has left the BBC soap after posting pictures of herself boarding a flight "to the heat."

She captioned the snaps: "Cannot thank my amazing cast members at the simply awesome experience I’ve had working on [EastEnders] for being so kind and loving to me.

"Big thank you to the BBC the producers writers crew and the EE family . Costume makeup AD’s Ang at the help desk.. Jamie and Danielle for making me laugh my a*se off everyday.

"I love you both… Emma Barton.. so so many people…. A new adventure begins."

Fans flooded to share their sadness over Patsy's exit.

One said: "So sad to see you go from Albert Square."

Another wrote: "Really enjoying you in EastEnders. I really think you need to be a permanent member of the cast."

A third penned: "Aw Patsy it's been great seeing you on EE have a well deserved break."

Patsy also addressed her ongoing health issue within the post.

She let fans know that she is finally in recovery after receiving a proper diagnosis and antibiotics.

Despite her short stint on EastEnders, a return could be on the cards in the future as the door is left open.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
