EastEnders star Danny Dyer reveals Mick's next story is the 'best he's ever had'

Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright reminisced about Mick and Linda Carter’s journey thus far on EastEnders during the premiere episode of Secrets From The Square, but they also previewed what’s the come for the Carters when the soap returns.

Mick and Linda’s era as Queen Vic publicans came to an end during the final pre-lockdown episode of the soap, as — following Linda’s battle with alcoholism — the soulmates resolved to sell their beloved boozer.

Fans have long been wondering what’s ahead for the couple, given that it’s hard to imagine them doing anything else rather than running the show’s central pub.

Speaking on Secrets From The Square about what’s to come, Kellie said: ‘We essentially are going to be coming out of lockdown like the rest of the county.

‘There are some testing times ahead for Mick and Linda.’

Meanwhile, Danny revealed that Mick’s next storyline could be the best yet.

He told presenter Stacey Dooley: ‘I think potentially when we come out of lockdown, I think I could have the best storyline I’ve ever had on this show’

Doof Doof, or what?

Given that Mick has been at the centre of some truly superb moments over the years — from Johnny’s (Sam Strike) coming out, to learning how to swim — that’s a huge statement, and we can’t wait to see what lies ahead.

EastEnders: Secrets From The Square continues next Monday at 8pm on BBC One. The iconic Den and Angie two-hander episode will be re-shown tomorrow at 7:30pm on BBC One.
