Priya Sharma (played by Fiona Wade) is in recovery following the burns she sustained during the maze fire. After Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) and Andrea Tate’s (Anna Nightingales) showdown, Priya found herself injured during the ordeal after a burning scarecrow fell on her. After undergoing a skin graft to heal her wounds, she is still struggling to come to terms with what happened. As Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony) fights off his dad Al (Matthew Wildman) for Priya’s affections, could he convince her to leave Emmerdale village?

In upcoming scenes, Priya receives news from her doctors she may need to undergo another skin graft.

Priya is already struggling with her recovery, however, things get worse for her as the pain of her injuries brings on an intense nightmare.

Her father, Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), is at a loss on how to help her and soon convinces Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony) to visit her.

However, a miscommunications leads to Priya lashing out at Ellis, and he’s shocked by her accusations.

Trying to help his daughter in any way, Rishi suggests she calls a psychologist to help her deal with her trauma and injuries.

Former lover Al soon gets wind there is a new rift developing between Priya and Ellis, and he takes full advantage of the situation.

Al strolls confidently over to Holdgate, but will an already struggling Priya welcome him?

The next day, Priya has her first therapy session, which she soon finds helpful for her and vows to continue with her sessions.

Ellis soon realises Priya’s stress may be the reasons she snapped and makes a heartfelt apology, and offers his support.

Is there hope for their relationship after all? Or will Al get in the way of his son?

Will the therapy sessions really work for Priya, or is she hiding something more sinister from her friends and family?

While Al is set on trying to win Priya back, it may become too much for her as she decides she needs to get away.

Listening to Priya, rather than trying to woo her, Ellis may suggest they leave the village to start a new life.

Moving away from the village could help Priya to move on from her traumatic ordeal in the maze.

It could also be a way for Ellis to prove just how serious he is about Priya and taking care of her.

Fans have been delighted Fiona’s character has been given a detailed storyline which seems like it’s going to run on for a while.

Andy Gibson wrote on Twitter: “I am so pleased @FionaWade_ has been given something meaty to get her teeth stuck into.

“You just know she is going to be phenomenal in Priya’s recovery storyline, and it’ll be completely fantastic viewing. #Emmerdale.”

@Darrennpassey replied: “I couldn’t agree more, Priya is one of my favourite characters, and Fiona is such a brilliant actress, looking forward to seeing how this storyline plays out.”

@Kateelouiseed said: “She is absolutely phenomenal already! Can’t wait to see where this storyline goes.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
