Emmerdale viewers watched with anticipation last week after Meena Jutla (played by Paige Sandhu) claimed her latest victim. Not only did the evil nurse try to kill off her love rival Victoria Sugden (Isobel Hodgins) by drowning her, but she ended up murdering Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) after leaving her for dead in a burning maze. Meena was forced to kill Andrea after she had witnessed the nurse trying to drown Victoria. However, little does she know that there is footage from the incident on Ben Tucker’s (Simon Lennon) Go-Pro. Meena is letting her mask slip and her jealousy of Victoria and her boyfriend David (Matthew Wolfenden) is getting the better of her. But, will the evil nurse finally be caught out?
In scenes that aired on Friday, Ben could be seen going through the Go-Pro footage for the police.
He discussed the footage with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) as he admitted all he could see in the video was water from the river.
As the duo left the room to chat with the police, the footage continued to play and showed Meena attempting to drown Victoria.
The episode then cut to Meena and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) at the hospital.
Speaking about Andrea’s death, Meena told her sister: “I think that’s the worst part, not knowing.
“All those questions that will keep us awake at night.
“Wondering what we could have done differently. We can’t let it consume us. None of us can change what happened.
“But with time it will get easier, it has to because the truth is, we might never know.”
Manpreet is worried about her sister, but will she end up going to Home Farm to find out what really happened in the maze?
And in doing so, will Meena’s murderous ways finally be exposed by the secret footage?
During Monday night’s instalment, Meena attempted to end Priya Sharma’s (Fiona Wade) life as she was the only other person who could have witnessed what happened to Andrea.
Priya had been heavily sedated by doctors as she suffered horrific burns from the fire.
As she lay in her hospital bed, Meena spoke to Priya about what happened in the maze and admitted she had to kill her in case she saw anything.
Meena tried to get the businesswoman’s attention by clicking her fingers, although Priya didn’t seem to hear her as her eyes remained closed.
“That’s a shame, I was hoping to have a chat first,” Meena told her. ” I wanted you to know this isn’t personal.
“It is more a matter of risk mitigation. The fact is I don’t know what you did or didn’t see in that maze.
“And that is a problem for me. So, I am going to do something that will help her both.”
Luckily for Priya, a nurse interrupted Meena before she could carry out the killing.
As she left the room, Meena set her sights on finding Victoria. Although little did she know, her love rival had already been discharged.
Meena picked up a card for Victoria from David on the floor which exposed their love for one another.
As she read the card, Meena’s sister walked into the room and she finally exposed her anger about the affair.
“What have I done to deserve this?” Meena raged. “I thought we were going to grow old together. What a fool I am, eh?”
As Manpreet left the room, Meena decided to leave Victoria a threatening voicemail telling her she will get revenge.
“You’re not going to have him,” the nurse told her. “He’s not yours.
“What goes around comes around, Vic and trust me karma is a b***h.”
With Meena’s true colours finally coming out, will David be the one to pick up the voicemail and was Manpreet listening to the entire conversation?
With the secret footage and the voicemail, could David and Manpreet finally figure out what has been going on and team up to expose Meena?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
