Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is set to gain a new flatmate in Coronation Street, who will end up keeping him up at night, a new spoiler video shows.

When Roy’s good friend Melvyn sadly passes away, Roy is left to take care of his dog, Freddie.

However, it seems that Freddie doesn’t settle very easily, as he keeps Roy awake all night with his barking.

The lack of sleep ends up affecting his work, as he serves up the wrong orders to customers.

Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) soon notices what’s wrong, and offers to take a restless Freddie for a walk.

Roy appreciates the offer, but his peace is soon shattered by a phone call.

After giving his condolences to the person on the other end of the line, he asks what he should do about Freddie.

He offers to drop the dog off, but the caller tells him not to, before hanging up the phone.

Roy is left wondering what he is supposed to do with the pup.

In upcoming scenes, it has been revealed that Roy will take poor Freddie to a shelter.

However, when friend Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) learns what he has done, she is absolutely horrified and berates him for his decision.

After some careful consideration, Roy confides in Shona and Evelyn that he has changed his mind, and has decided to keep Freddie.

The women are absolutely thrilled, and Evelyn assures him that he’s made the right decision.

Will she prove to be right?
