The three finalists, Nicole Akong, Clare Bradley and Matt Gage were competing for the chance to become the champion of the 2020 series of BBC’s Great British Sewing Bee. After weeks of fighting it out with their weird and wonderful designs, it was Clare who took the title tonight – but some fans believed fellow finalist Nicole was “robbed” after previously being dubbed the favourite to win.

Joe Lycett guided the competitors through the show one last time whilst donning a dazzling metallic suit and informed the trio today’s theme would be a celebration.

The three tasks saw Nicole, Clare and Matt have to make carnival outfits from swimwear, a tartan kilt and the most complex task of all was saved till last.

After the final round saw the sewers have to take on making a ball gown for a model of their choice, the winner of the programme was announced as Clare.

However, some believed her opponent Nicole should have won the competition, taking to Twitter after the programme and claiming she was “robbed” of victory.
