How Elizabeth Chambers Is Doing Throughout The Armie Hammer Drama

Elizabeth Chambers has no doubt had a difficult time since her estranged husband, Armie Hammer, hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in January 2021. Per the Daily Mail, disturbing allegations were made against the actor after alleged direct messages from him to a former girlfriend leaked online, in which he confessed disturbing and violent sexual fantasies. More women came forward with their own allegations against the actor, and, in March 2021, Page Six reported that the Los Angeles Police Department had launched an investigation into his behavior following allegations of rape and sexual assault.

In early February 2021, Chambers spoke out on Instagram. She posted a photo of a beach at sunset alongside a lengthy caption, where she wrote, in part, that she was feeling “shocked, heartbroken, and devastated” by what she’d learned. She added that she would “continue to listen and educate” herself and vowed to “support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.” Chambers added that her “sole focus and attention will continue to be on [her and Hammer’s] children, on [her] work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time.”

Chambers has since shared another update on how she’s doing following the latest round of allegations against Hammer. Read on to find out what she told fans in April 2021.

'Healing' has been Elizabeth Chambers' focus

Elizabeth Chambers spoke out during a Q&A session with fans via her Instagram Story in April 2021, where she seemingly addressed the legal case against her estranged husband, Armie Hammer. She didn’t explicitly reference the serious allegations, though. According to Page Six, she answered a number of fan questions and replied to one by sharing that she’s been “[f]ocusing on healing, [her] babes and work.” She added there was “[a] lot [she’s] wanted to share, but hasn’t felt right ATM [at the moment].” The star shared the insight into her private life alongside a photo that showed her holding up a heart-shaped crystal in front of a sunset.

People confirmed in July 2020 that Chambers had filed for divorce from Hammer after 10 years of marriage. She cited “irreconcilable differences” and listed the date of their separation as May 2020. Chambers and Hammer are parents to two children, Harper and Ford, and Chambers filed for primary physical custody as well as joint legal custody.

Hammer has denied the allegations made against him. A statement obtained by Variety from Hammer’s attorney read, “With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight. From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [the alleged victim] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual.”
