Jordan North leaves Saturday Night Takeaway viewers in hysterics as he chokes on pea

Saturday Night Takeaway co-host Jordan North has had his fair share of mishaps during his live segment on the Saturday night gameshow.

Whilst coming live from Birmingham during his Takeaway Truck segment, Jordan had previously told viewers he was going to have a carvery before his segment, however when his time came to present, Jordan could barely get his words out – as he was too busy choking on a pea.

Jordan had visited the Hall Green Pub earlier in the day, with locals spotting the crew filming outside of the pub. Hall Green Pub is famed for its carveries, and was once one of the most successful Toby Carvery locations in the country.

It underwent a massive £500k makeover in 2022, and serves up to 2500 meals a week, including an average of 850 roasts every Sunday.

Jordan had told viewers he was going to try the carvery earlier in the show, but was clearly still enjoying tucking into his meal when his live segment started.

As Jordan began to talk, he could barely get his words out for coughing, announcing to viewers that he was choking on a pea in between splutters.

Viewers were left in hysterics at the presenter’s mishap, with one Twitter user posting: “Dying at Jordan North choking on a pea whilst trying to present on TV. William will be having a good giggle at that,"

Whilst another said: “Not Jordan North choking on a pea. Let's see how he'll get out of that on Radio 1 on Monday” followed by some crying laughing emojis.

Thankfully Jordan managed to power through, and after several attempts at clearing his throat was able continue on with his segment of the show, which saw one local man winning the chance to appear on stage.

After successfully guessing three different songs based on the audience’s dance moves, he was presented with a place on the plane to spend the week in Florida for the show’s grand finale episode a week on Monday.

Each week Jordan and his Takeaway Truck visit a different city around the UK to give the local residents the chance to win prizes.

This isn’t the first mishap Jordan has had live on air, as the presenter has accidentally crashed a golf cart into the studio whilst ferrying contestants to the stage, and forgetting what day of the week it was as he visited a local restaurant for the show.
