Katie McGlynn hints at Corrie return as she teases Sineads long lost twin plot
Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has admitted that she will "never say never" on a return to the cobbles of Weatherfield.
The Strictly Come Dancing star teased numerous "exciting" things in the pipeline while appearing at the MEN Pride of Manchester awards last week.
The star-studded award ceremony celebrates the city's heroes, with Katie and plenty of her former Corrie co-stars in attendance to make it extra-special.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star on the red carpet, she admitted that she wouldn't be averse to a long-lost twin storyline for her character Sinead Tinker – despite her being killed off in a devastating cancer storyline.
Sinead had just given birth to her son Bertie with Daniel Osbourne when she tragically died after suspending cancer treatment to carry out the pregnancy.
Actress Katie joked: "Let’s get it in the pipeline, let’s ring up the writers!"
But she then added: "No, but I think because I had such an amazing time there, I wouldn’t want to try and do it again. My time there was precious.
"It’s like when you go on holiday somewhere and you don’t want to go back to the same place because you had such a good time doing it!"
Hopes haven't been entirely dashed, however, as Katie would "love" to return to Corrie.
She explained: "I mean it’s kind of impossible because I’m dead, but I would love to go back there just to see all my friends and my family there – because they are like a family."
Katie has also admitted she will "never say never" to anything, and teased a stint on Dancing On Ice after her Corrie co-star Sally Dynevor made waves on the show last year.
She told us: "I’m too clumsy! Do you know what, I’ll never say never to anything.
"A couple of my friends from Corrie – three of my friends have done it from Corrie… actually, a lot of people from Corrie!
"They’ve told me everything, I’ve been there from day one with them and it looks incredible. I’d love to learn how to do that – so I just don’t know," she then concluded.
The MEN Pride of Manchester Awards, in partnership with TSB, will premiere on YouTube at 7pm on Tuesday 17 th May.
