Katie Price takes on Molly Mae as she launches fake tan range weeks before bankruptcy hearing

KATIE Price is set to take on Molly-Mae as she launches a fake tan range just weeks before her bankruptcy hearing.

The former glamour model and mother-of-five has been teasing her exciting new "money-spinner" project on social media this week.

Katie, 43, is set to expand her empire with a self tanning range that allows fans to get her "trademark tan on the cheap".

A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "It's her latest money-spinner as she makes her big comeback – a range of self-tan.

"It's no secret that Katie loves a tan and even had a sun bed in her house at one point – but this is a way for fans to get her tan without the expense!"

"She always moaned that the ranges out there didn't give dark enough or enough coverage so she's bringing out her own," the insider added.

They teased of the new product: "She will never give up holidays or sun beds, but this way fans can get her trademark tan on the cheap."

Katie will join a long list of celebrities who already have their own tanning range – including Molly-Mae, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

Love Island star turned businesswoman Molly-Mae, 22, launched Filter in 2019, with the products stocked by clothing website Pretty Little Thing.

Her success saw her sign as the creative director of the fast-fashion company earlier last month with a lucrative seven-figure deal.

Katie's tanning range will add to her long-list of start ups, including collections of lashes, equestrian kit and kids clothing.

The media star launched a beauty range back in March, Scented By Katie Price, selling bath bombs, candles and relaxing sprays.

It comes ahead of Katie's bankruptcy hearings next month, where she will return to court to discuss her staggering £3.2million debt to creditors.

After declaring herself bankrupt in 2019, the courts have declined to discharge her due to a failure to address paying back the losses.

Katie was supposed to pay off £12,000 a month to her creditors after taking out an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA) – but failed to do so.

Officials will now review her attempts to pay back her hefty debts to creditors two years after going bust in the upcoming hearing.

She saw her once lucrative £45million media empire fall apart after the downfall of her third marriage to Kieran Hayler in 2018.

Her bankruptcy was extended in November 2020, giving her extra time to earn back the money she owes.

Katie is now under pressure to pay off the £3.2 million debt after a failure to attend meetings and address paying back the losses.

A source told The Sun: "Katie is due back next month – the debt is huge and it's unlikely she'll be able to pay it all back.

"She hopes the court is understanding in why it's been slow progress."

The court hearing comes as part of a difficult month for the mother-of-five, after she was allegedly punched in the face at her Essex home last month.

While her attacker was arrested on suspicion of assault – the man has since been re-bailed by Essex police until the end of the week.

A source told The Sun: "Police have asked for more time to get to the bottom of exactly what went on.

"Investigators will continue to look into the night in question with a variety of forms of evidence to establish what happened before they make a decision whether they will charge the man in question or not."

The star was pictured with a bruised face and cut lip after she was allegedly punched in the attack, as she told The Sun she had to go "to hospital".

"I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened," Katie said.

“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured. I can’t say any more.”
