Kelvin Fletcher 'starstruck' by late Clive Hornby when he first joined Emmerdale

On the soap he played Andy Sugden, the adopted son of Clive’s character Jack Sugden.
The actor told Loose Women on Monday that he had ‘great memories’ of working with Clive, who died in 2008 aged 63.
‘First and foremost, he was the first person I remember getting starstruck by when I met,’ Kelvin said.
‘Clive was in our living room as Jack Sugden every night, prior to me joining Emmerdale. So when I had my first scenes with Jack and I was gonna be playing this tearaway, who would in the end being adopted – fostered at first and then adopted by Jack, we were starstruck as a family.’
He revealed that his dad got to meet the TV star, and he ended up being just as wowed as he was.
The Strictly Come Dancing champ said: ‘I remember my dad getting a little bit nervous meeting Clive. He was a giant of a man. He was way over six foot and for little hobbits like me and my dad that’s very very big for us.
‘He just had a great presence, an absolute immaculate professional. Someone I admired as an actor.
‘And he had a wicked sense of humour and I’ve got give him all my credit. I was known as the prankster on set and it’s because of Clive. He was the number one.’
Kelvin played Andy on the soap from 1996 to 2016.
