Lily makes a huge decision after dad Ryan's explosive EastEnders return

Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) makes a decision in EastEnders next week shortly after reuniting with dad Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott), who stages a comeback after learning about her pregnancy.

The 12-year-old, as viewers know, discovered that she was pregnant last month, after ending up in hospital following a carbon monoxide scare.

After giving it some thought, she decided to keep her baby, with both she and baby father Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) intent on raising it together.

Ryan, meanwhile, has no idea that his duster is pregnant, but he finds out all about it next week when an emotional Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) speaks to him on the phone regarding her own baby’s test results being delayed, before spilling the beans about Lily.

Intent on doing the right thing, Ryan subsequently arrives on the Square, much to Stacey’s (Lacey Turner) shock. Lily meets with her dad, enjoying some quality time with him, as he offers to support her financially.

Lily, however, is not pleased with Stacey’s attitude towards him, but Stacey claps back that Martin Fowler (James Bye) is her actual father.

Subsequent scenes will then see the 12-year-old starts to feel like a burden to her mum – who is conflicted with money issues – and therefore she makes a huge decision.

The question is: just what has Lily decided? What’s more, has Ryan had a role in her big decision?

Sorry, this video isn’t available any more.

Neil McDermott, who plays Ryan, told Metro.co.uk that his character may have an ulterior motive in returning to the Square, so it’s certainly a possibility.

‘Ryan hasn’t been around, so [it’s] “Why should he have a right to say anything at all?” which I understand,’ said Neil. ‘In Ryan’s mind though, something massive has happened here and he tries to be of some help.’

One to watch: Thursday February 16 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
