Louis Walsh 'returning to The X Factor' as he confirms signing big money deal after two-year break
LOUIS Walsh is returning to The X Factor as he confirms signing a big money deal after a two-year break.
The 66-year-old will make a comeback after The Sun revealed in May he was in advanced discussions with Simon Cowell.
MailOnline reports the show legend – who has been sacked twice before by the ITV talent show – has now signed a contract.
It's thought the judging panel will be slashed to just three members — like the original show – for the All Stars version this summer.
They'll be judging a line-up of celebrities who will bid for the public votes to win a mega record deal.
Those in talks to compete on the show include Gemma Collins, Amanda Holden, Caroline Flack, Megan McKenna and John Barrowman.
Love Island stars Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Samira Mighty are forming their own band so they can take part in the first series of the new Celebrity X Factor.
Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osborne have been rumoured to join Louis and Simon on the panel.
Dannii Minogue was another name considered, but no approach was made to the singer who now lives full-time in Australia.
Last year's stars Robbie Williams and Ayda Field quit after Simon Cowell refused to increase their mega £10m pay deals.
Simon, 59, revealed The X Factor will have a "fresh new look" when it returns in 2020 after a year’s hiatus.
It's after he made the shock decision to axe the traditional format in favour of celebrity and all-star version.
He said: "Next year the main X Factor show will change again and we’ve got something very, very exciting, that I can’t get into yet, but it’s a four-year plan.”
