Love Island exes unearthed as stars make TV debut – including Lucas disrespected former lover

A brand new series of Love Island has returned to our screens and it's fair to say it's what we've all been waiting for.

Whilst Islanders go on their journey's of finding love, the brand new Majorcan villa never falls short of providing shocking moments, bombshells and drama.

Despite the fact that Islanders go on the show to form new relationships, it has never stopped flames from their past speaking about their former lovers out on the outside.

From Tommy Fury to newcomer fishmonger Luca Bush, here OK! takes a look at some exes who've come out of the woodwork…

Gemma Owen

In the 2022 series of the ITV2 show, Gemma Owen's ex entered the villa in a shock twist.

Jacques O'Neill, a 23 year old rugby player, arrived as a bombshell after Gemma's first week on the show.

The couple were together for a year before breaking up, and while it is thought to have been amicable, Jacques snubbed his former girlfriend in his intro video – not even mentioning her name.

When asked why he was single, he only briefly alluded to their relationship: "I split up with my ex and then I was seeing someone else. I was concentrating so much on my rugby and then I had that injury. I think it needs to be the right person, at the right time."

And Jacques is not the only bombshell to surprise Gemma, with another ex, Wrexham footballer Cameron Green, reportedly waiting in the wings.

Cameron, 23, has previously spent time at Gemma’s home and even met her family during their brief fling.

Luca Bish

Appearing on the brand new series of Love Island, Luca Bish, 23, appears to have his eyes on a few ladies.

Before the island, the fishmonger had been in a four year relationship with beauty influencer and tattoo artist Sophie Floyd.

Despite meeting at school in Brighton, the pair broke up in 2021 after they "drifted apart", according to Luca.

However, in a YouTube video posted by Sophie six months ago, it appears as though the influencer saw the cause of the breakdown differently.

"Got my heart broken," Sophie said as she began the video. "As a lot of you have kind of gathered, me and Luca aren't together anymore.

"It's a lot. I've been dealing with that and all the things that come with that. Very sudden, very unexpected, weird."

She added: "He did f***ing hurt me and he was massively disrespectful to me towards the end, which is why I kind of just had to put things to bed and move forward."

Tommy Fury

In 2019, Tommy Fury made his Love Island debut at the age of 20.

Becoming a key figure amongst his fellow Islanders, Tyson Fury's brother developed a strong relationship with Molly-Mae Hague, who he is still with to this day.

However, the display of TV love didn't stop Tommy's ex from speaking out.

Taking to her social media, Millie Roberts spoke against Tommy's claim that he had been single for 10 months.

She said: "Didn’t realise February to March was eight-10 months ago?

“I know you're not the best at maths but this is no excuse. It’s mad what fame and money can do to people, try and act like the whole relationship was nothing.

“But okay Tommy, you do you.”

Maura Higgins

Known for being flirtatious and confident in the 2019 series of Love Island, Maura Higgins was certainly popular amongst her fellow Islanders.

Although she was a favourite for many fans, her ex fiancé wasn't impressed as he claimed she was "putting on an act."

Speaking to The Sun, James Finnegan, said: "The Maura you see on Love Island is not the Maura I know. For me, she is putting on an act. I haven’t watched the scene where she was hitting on Tommy Fury but she never did anything like that to me. I’m not even sure he’s her type.

"I think Maura is playing a game and trying to grab attention. But there is a lot of jealousy towards her here, with people bitching behind her back. I think she will be given a hard time when she comes home."

Maura met James when she was 16 years old in Ireland. They were reportedly together for nine years.

Arabella Chi

Arabella Chi was slammed by her ex boyfriend, who is also an ex Islander.

Taking to his Instagram page when she was on the show, Charlie Frederick said: "Finding out that a person I'm seeing on a serious level has just strolled into the villa completely disregarding my feelings and our relationship or what we had.

"I feel like I have to air these screenshots because I feel like I've been completely mugged off."

Whilst Arabella appeared on the 2019 series of Love Island, Charlie starred on the show in 2018.

Connor Durman

Connor's ex-girlfriend Stevie-Leigh Pich felt like he was coming across as a player when he made his Love Island debut in 2020.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: "I was approached for Love Island last year, he told me I’d never get on it so I never expected him to apply for it.

"It’s mad seeing him on TV because I keep thinking ‘that’s my Connor’ even though he’s not anymore.

"He was my best mate and from what friends have said it doesn’t sound like he’s the boy I fell in love with.

"It sounds like he’s coming across as a f***boy."

Connor and Stevie-Leigh reportedly lived together for three years.

Luke Mabbot

Appearing on the reality in 2020, Luke Mabbot's former flame Chloe Ephraim said he "led her on."

Although the two never dated, Chloe claimed that they became flirty after they met when she was 18 in Turkey.

Chloe told The Sun at the time: "I’ve felt so sick ever since I found out. I was speaking to him four days before he appeared on the show. We were planning for me to go down and visit him for a whole weekend.

"He started pursuing me again just after Christmas and he must have known that he was going on the show then.

"He didn’t say anything. He just led me on and I was planning to go stay with him for the whole weekend."
