Nadiya Hussain shows us how to make a sweet lavender pizza
Nadiya Hussain has shown us how to make her easy yet unique take on pizza with a sweet twist.
The chef’s latest BBC series, Nadiya’s Bakes, kicked off its first episode on Wednesday, and showcases some of her favourite dishes which can be baked in the oven.
Nadiya presented her recipe for a blueberry lavender scone pizza – it might sound a bit weird, but the finished product looks absolutely delicious.
As well as being a dessert version of what is usually a savoury food, Nadiya explained that the pizza is supposed to be a ‘playful twist’ on the ‘timeless classic’ afternoon tea.
So, as you can expect, clotted cream and jam will also be involved.
The dish itself is fairly easy to make, and takes less than half an hour both to prepare and make it.
Nadya suggests it can serve up to 12 people, although we wouldn’t judge if you ended up making it just for yourself to eat.
And that’s it – it’s not that hard at all.
‘The lemon and the lavender work so well together,’ Nadiya exclaimed. ‘They were meant to be together, in a scone pizza!’
As well as the pizza, Nadiya also showed us how to make her strawberry shortcake cupcakes – complete with an ice cream frosting – and a kebab-themed toad in the hole.
We can’t wait to see what she will come up with next.
Nadiya’s Bakes continues next Wednesday at 8:30pm on BBC Two.
