Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree turned their attention to a previously untouched room in their 19th century home for the latest edition of Escape to the Chateau. The Channel 4 series follows the couple as Angel shares her extravagant design plans with her husband and Dick attempts to bring them to fruition.
In Sunday’s instalment, Angel visited the room above the attic floor for the very first time.
The large room runs from the front of the chateau to the back and is the highest point of the house.
As she entered the room, Angel remarked: “Oh my goodness me I did not know this was up here.”
“It’s quite a big room, isn’t it?” Dick added as the couple walked around the space.

“I thought when you said there’s an attic I thought it was something you couldn’t stand up in it’s completely beautiful up here,” Angel observed.
Dick wanted to keep the space for storage once it had been insulated but Angel had other ideas.
“This is stunning I understand we need to plasterboard, insulate it, etc,” she said.
“But I’d hate to get rid of all this shape it is lovely I wasn’t joking when I said I wanted a sky bar up here.”
“I ignored you completely,” Dick joked as the couple discussed their plans with the building working on the roof.
Angel commented: “This is a beautiful view this is so stunning.”
The builder suggested investing in windows that pull out into a mini balcony.
Dick scolded: “Three times I’ve ignored her and on the third time you start telling her about the balconies that open up.”

“This is why you didn’t bring me up here you didn’t bring me up here in case I had an idea,” Angel joked.
Angel explained to Dick her idea of turning the attic space into a sky bar complete with stunning views.
However, the space was only accessible via a ladder and the couple needed to work out where they’d fit some stairs.
“As an attic, it’s a great bit of space but let’s talk about insulation,” Dick remarked.

“When you come up here and say I got windows for instance…” Angel began.
“This is when I get a pain behind my eye because actually, you’re not going to let this go are you?” Dick asked.
Escape to the Chateau fans were amazed by the couple’s ambitious plans as Donna tweeted: “Once again watching #EscapeToTheChateau with a warm smile on my face, feeling very envious and saying repeatedly ‘They are so clever’ @dickstrawbridge.”
“I love this programme… and everything about it. I want an evening in the Observatory Bar. I am so jealous #EscapeToTheChateau,” Victoria added.
Escape to the Chateau continues on Channel 4 on Sunday at 8pm.
