Ozark's Jason Bateman warns Laura Linney's Wendy is 'capable of anything' & will go 'further & further' in final season

OZARK'S Jason Bateman has warned that Laura Linney's Wendy is 'capable of anything' and will go 'further and further' in the final season.

It was announced earlier this year that the fourth season of the hit Netflix series would be the last.

Show bosses promised the Byrde's will "go out with a bang" and now Jason, who plays Marty Byrde, has revealed his on-screen wife could be the catalyst for an explosive finale.

Wendy – played by Laura – started out as a suburban housewife in Chicago but has transformed into a ruthless casino owner employed by a Mexican drug lord.

Now Jason – who also serves as an executive producer on the series – revealed: "Laura’s capable of anything. This truly is an ensemble show, and this season you saw that benefit the show with Laura carrying even more water.

"It’s just a fantastic season because of her ability to take that character further and further, with seemingly no effort.”

He continued to Netflix Queue: "The thing I was focused on by trying to land Laura was what she would represent internally and externally about the show.

"She is unapologetically real and serious… She is just so restrained and so classy with the way in which she goes about doing what she does.

"I knew that authenticity was going to be important for what this family is going through. She has to be this real person, she can’t be somebody doing a lot of melodrama.”

Wendy sunk to new levels in season three when she allowed her bipolar suffering brother Ben to be killed.

Speaking about the raw scenes that followed in the aftermath of her decision, Laura said: “It’s funny, a lot of people ask me, ‘Isn’t it hard? Aren’t you exhausted?’

"The fact that everything is aligned correctly on the Ozark set makes it not hard. There’s nothing in the way.

"You have a great character to play, within an ensemble of great characters. You know that you’ve been handed something of value. You want it to be as good as it can be.”

Ozark seasons 1-3 are available on Netflix.
