This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield took a cheeky swipe at Meghan Markle during Thursday's show, sparking backlash from viewers.
He and Holly Willoughby welcomed journalist Camilla Tominey and LBC host Nick Ferrari onto the show for the daily debate on the top news stories .
As the group talked about Donald Trump saying he'd like to take Meghan Markle on for the presidency race for 2024, they discussed their thoughts on whether Meghan would consider it.
Camilla pointed out that it was unlikely as Meghan is currently pregnant with her second child, so would have two small children whilst she would be campaigning.
Phillip also chipped in with a glint in his eye: "But also, doesn't she want a quiet, private life?"
Camilla replied: "Yes, also she doesn't want much scrutiny and I would suggest if she thinks the British press have been intrusive while she has been a royal, if she were to be a candidate, my goodness, a great deal would be unleashed on her.
"So she would have to think very carefully about it."
Nick jumped in to joke that he thought Jennifer Lopez and Jerry Springer should also try their luck in the political race, so they would have a variety of showbiz people.
Viewers weren't happy with the conversation, as they rushed to social media to scold the group for their comments.
One wrote: "Phillip needs to stop his sly sarcastic comments about Meghan markle does it every day. We don't need a daily negative commentary on Meghan."
Another added: "How about @Schofe & @hollywills (especially phillip) watch the interview of what Meghan was talking about privacy. I would advice you to watch and listen…so you stop your nonsense. #thismorning Honestly who does philip think he is…" [sic]
A third said: "Even after the #CarolineFlack documentary last night #ThisMorning are still hating on Meghan Markle. When will they learn?"
A fourth asked: "Why talk about then?! If they want their privacy and it p***es the media off over here then why talk about her?! It’s not like Meghan has said “yeah im going to run for president,” the media are the ones talking about her by speculating on this rumour." [sic]

This comes after Phillip told Meghan to "shut up" during Wednesday's show, as he and Holly spoke to Gyles Brandreth and Beverly Turner about Prince William and Harry's "unproductive" conversation after the explosive Oprah interview.
He said: "The thing is there’s been an enormous amount of sympathy over the race issue, the mental health issue, but looking at the polls that are being done at the moment, that sympathy seems to be ebbing away quite quickly.
"There is this feeling that you’ve made your point, essentially shut up now and get on with your quiet American life."
The TV presenter continued: "You stabbed a knife to the heart of the monarch of which there were some things they felt needed to be highlighted fair enough but stop now."
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10am on ITV.
