Power Ghost’s Noma star admits violent scenes ‘come home with her’
Charoline Chikezie opens up about filming violent scenes
Power Book II: Ghost is in the midst of its third season as Tariq (played by Michael Rainey Jr) and his game try to keep on the good side of Noma (Caroline Chikezie).
By now fans will know that Noma is not a woman to be messed with, especially after the violent and shocking antics fans have seen from her in the season so far.
As for the woman behind the devious new connect, being that of Caroline Chikezie, she admitted she is the “opposite” of her onscreen character.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Chikezie opened up about how she deals with the aftermath of filming violent scenes in the Power spin-off series.
Although she admitted she “didn’t think it would come home with me”, Chikezie noticed she would “catch herself” being rather “Noma-esque” in her personal life.

The actress explained: “ You know, I didn’t think it would like, come home with me.
“But then I didn’t realise, once I’ve been if I’ve been working day after day, then I become a little bit Noma-esque in the sense that I’m more vocal,” she admitted.
“Normally I like to shy away from confrontation, and I’m catching myself saying, ‘Oh, what does that mean?’” as she recalled becoming more like her Power Book character in real life.
Chikezie continued: “Typically I’m the opposite of that and yeah you know it does affect my day-to-day, it does a bit if I’m really going for it.”

But Chikezie insists she has a way to rid herself of any “Noma-esque” personality traits.
She explained: “But what I do is, I get home, and I sit in the bath for like an hour, soap, I sage. I listen to music. I unwind. I watch movies, you know, comedies and lighthearted things like that.
“Just to get back to myself, because when you’re in a character like Noma, you have to bring it,” she added.
“You can’t be I can’t be like, ‘Hi, I’m Noma’,” she said, as she imitated a sweet voice.
“I have to embrace it. You know, but and then but at the same time, I have to protect all this, you know,” as she gestured at herself.
Despite Noma being a challenging part to play, Chikezie insists she still enjoys playing her “badass” character.
“But it’s honestly so fun, whenever it feels heavy, then I remind myself how lucky I am, you know.
“Brett Mahoney, who wrote the hell out of this character, [so I remember] how blessed I am to be in this position to portray such a badass. She’s fun, man. I love it,” she added.
