RHONJ’s Caroline Manzo ‘heartbroken’ after brother-in-law Tommy charged with ‘plotting to attack ex Dina’s new husband’ – The Sun

RHONJ's Caroline Manzo said her family is "heartbroken" after her brother-in-law Tommy was charged with "plotting to attack ex Dina’s new husband," Dave Cantin.

The assault allegedly happened back in 2015 when Dina and Dave were dating.

Caroline told Extra TV: "We are heartbroken. This is family on both sides.

"I want to know the truth and my allegiance will lie with the truth."

The 58-year-old said: "We don't run from things like this, we address them, and I feel comfortable with that because we are being painted with a brush that does not reflect who we are as people."

Caroline has been married to Albert Manzo, Tommy Manzo's brother, for 36 years.

The brothers are also co-owners in their local Brownstone event hall.

Tommy and Dina, who is Caroline's sister, divorced in 2012 after seven years of marriage.

She is also the mother to 24-year-old daughter, Lexi.

In recent years Dina and Caroline have become estranged for an unknown reason.

Dina, in turn, has become friendlier with RHONJ OG Teresa Giudice, who congratulated her on her three year wedding anniversary this week commenting on Instagram:

"Love you guys you are so beautiful together."

Tommy Manzo, allegedly hired a member of the Lucchese Crime Family to assault Dave back in 2015, according to court documents obtained by The Sun.

Court papers show Tommy allegedly gave John Perna Dave's home and work address and car description in order to find and attack him.

Thomas apparently made the deal with John in exchange for a large discount on a wedding reception at The Brownstone.

According to the court document charges, John Perna, along with another man, followed Dave into a Passaic County mall and attacked him with a slapjack, leaving him with a permanent facial scar.

Soon after the alleged attack, John did hold a “lavish wedding reception” at The Brownstone according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Tommy's attorney, Michael Critchley, said his client is completely innocent telling NewJersey.com: "The allegations more resemble a fictional plot of a reality TV show and will be proven to be absolutely and totally false as it relates to Thomas Manzo."
Thomas and John appeared in federal court via video conference this week.

The month before Dina and Dave were married, the two also survived a home invasion in their New Jersey townhouse.

The couple was beaten and bound, and since then they have relocated to the West Coast.

An arrest was made last spring in that case.
