The Blacklist’s Reddington ‘surrenders’ in tense sneak peek

The Blacklist: Dr. Laken Perillos makes her return

Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (played by James Spader) is heading towards his final hour as millions of fans get ready for The Blacklist to come to its explosive conclusion after 10 seasons. Now, new images from the next episode coming up on NBC, ‘The Troll Farmer: Part Three’, could confirm the mastermind is already ready to give up the fight.

A new sneak peek at next week’s hour of The Blacklist features Red holding a white flag of surrender with his gun in the air.

Could all be lost for the Task Force? Or will Red simply make another risky play to give his agents a chance to swoop in?

During last Sunday’s outing, Red’s mission to take down Bo Chang (Aaron Yoo) aka the Troll Farmer seemed to go according to plan.

The team soon discovered he’s working with Wujing (Chin Han), and the Blacklisters work together to steal a powerful malware system called HexRoot.

Wujing and his new partner used the program to expose Red’s partnership with the FBI and managed to escape unscathed, before double agent Richard Deever (Chris McKenna) handed them back over.

However, the episode ends with yet another bombshell as Red reveals he’s ready to share a huge secret to the task force.

Plus, it won’t be long before another dangerous mission rears its head, and Red will face an impossible task when the series returns this Sunday.

A synopsis for the next episode reads: “The task force races against the clock to recover a valuable asset stolen from the government. Red hatches a plan to help track down the perpetrators.”

Unfortunately, there’s no new promo for this episode, but the new images do give some sense of what’s in store.

In one still, Red is holding his hands up in surrender and waving a tell-tale white handkerchief to assert he’s not a threat.

This moment could come as a shock to fans who have rarely seen the reformed criminal mastermind this vulnerable.

Even so, he has assured the task force he still has a masterplan in store that will unfold over the next 72 hours.

More stills have revealed looks at Sven Hollufson (Carsten Norgaard) and new task force member Siya Malik (Anya Banerjee).

Plus, Chang is also seen being escorted by Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) and Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq).

While the Troll Farmer himself seems to be out of action, Wujing could be laying one last trap for Red and the team.

Details about The Blacklist’s final season are being kept under wraps and fans are still unsure how the series could come to an end.

Red and his colleagues are still reeling following the death of his daughter Liz Keen (Megan Boone) at the end of season eight.

Could the 10th and final outing drop another bombshell in the upcoming season finale to ring the hit drama out with a bang?

Although it’s unlikely Red will be killed off halfway through the season, fans may have to be prepared to say goodbye to more beloved characters over the coming weeks.

The Blacklist season 10 continues Sundays on NBC in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
