The Chase's Anne Hegerty had a savage dig up her sleeve tonight – aimed at her fellow Chaser.

Hosted by Bradley Walsh, The Chase has finally returned after weeks off the air, with each contestant taking on "The Governess" Anne.

Before Bradley started firing the questions, he decided to get to know contestant Sue a little bit better.

The hopeful contestant revealed she was a member of a "grub club" with her pals, where they make plans to dine out together.

When Bradley dug a little deeper, Sue explained they met up once a month for "starters and desserts" – skipping the main course.

Once the time came for Sue to face the Chaser, Anne had a word or two to say about the "grub club".

Turning the conversation to her fellow Chaser Mark "The Beast" Labbett, she made a savage joke about his size.

She quipped: "The Beast has a monthly grub club. I say monthly because that's how long it lasts!"

Over on Twitter, viewers were chuffed with the idea of a "grub club", and made it clear they'd love to become members.

One said: "'Grub club' – it sounds right up my street."

And a second added: "I want to be in the grub club!"

The Chase fans were devastated last November when the series was replaced by another game show, Cash Trapped.

Anne and her fellow Chasers spent five weeks off the air before their spectacular return over the Christmas break.

Fingers crossed they're here to stay…

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
