The Masked Singer will be returning to ITV soon and the new characters have just been revealed. Nicola Roberts and Joss Stone were crowned the previous champions as Queen Bee and Sausage respectively. Who will be crowned the next winner? Here is all you need to know about the new costumes.

Who are the new Masked Singer characters?

Figuring out who is behind the mask has become the nation’s favourite obsession and the judging panel will be back to guess again.

Twelve celebs will take to the stage to sing their hearts out, whilst in disguise as a quirky character.

Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan will put their detective hats on once more as the guessing game begins again.

Joel Dommett will also be back to host the series, which attracted an audience of over 10 million last year.

While an official release date has not yet been announced, the characters have now been revealed.

The new Masked Singer characters are as follows:

Chandelier

Bagpipes

Lionfish

Doughnuts

Traffic Cone

Panda

Rockhopper

Mushroom

Firework

Poodle

Snow Leopard

Robobunny

Fans have already taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the upcoming series.

Nikki said: “I seriously can’t wait for this. I’ve missed the show.”

The series also has a US version, and both are derived from the South Korean singing competition of a similar name.

Strict rules are enforced to make sure the identities of the celebs are not revealed ahead of the show.

The famous faces themselves are not allowed to know who they are performing against.

When a contestant is eliminated from the competition, the panel and audience chant “take it off!” as their mask is finally removed.

Fans in the UK were also treated to the first series of The Masked Dancer earlier this year.

There were some shocking reveals, with Bonnie Langford going undercover as the ultra-flexible and sassy Squirrel.

The new season of The Masked Singer is expected to air in January 2022, but an official date is yet to be announced.

Fans usually see the contestants split into separate groups, and they battle it out in heats until the competition narrows down.

A social media frenzy ensues as viewers turn into detectives to figure out who is behind each mask.

The elaborate and detailed costumes are what make the singing competition different from anything else on screen.

Viewers have been left divided over whether the show is a success, but they cannot help but come back for more.

Hopefully, it will not be long before fans get to see the eccentric characters in action for the first time.

The Masked Singer will return to ITV in 2022.
