The Masked Singers Knitting exposed as pregnant Loose Women star by fans

Fans of ITV’s The Masked Singer were excited to see the return of their favourite armchair detective show last night as the disguised celebrities kicked off the new year with a bang.

But they’re not alone as Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan are back to help unmask the mystery line-up as they sang their hearts out to the nation on New Year’s Day.

And it's fair to say this series is harder than ever as a new batch of 12 celebrities left viewers scratching their heads despite dishing out a slew of subtle clues while they showcased their singing skills beneath an elaborate costume.

Joel Dommett returned to his hosting duties as he introduced the unusual characters while they took to the stage.

And after just one performance, fans are convinced they have already worked out the identity of one character as they blew viewers away with their impressive vocals.

During the hour-long show, the cuddly character Knitting took centre stage as a ball of energy which some believe sported a Lancastrian accent.

However, this clue was ignored by many viewers who couldn’t help but picture the celebrity was none other than crafting queen Stacey Solomon.

Many thought the TV presenter – who is originally from Dagenham – could be underneath the ball of wool as they performed to millions.

Eagle-eyed viewers soon took to Twitter to share their predictions online, with one posing: “Knitting (singing) sounds like it could be @StaceySolomon.”

Another agreed: “That’s Stacey Solomon” as a third echoed: “Knitting has to be Stacey Solomon” meanwhile a fourth concluded: “Knitting = Stacey Solomon.”

But that wasn’t the only celebrity fans predicted could be behind the mask, as others suggested it could even be Sara Davies from BBC’s Dragon’s Den or even Claire Richards from Steps.

Last year saw singing sensation Natalie Imbruglia, masquerading as Panda, crowned the winner of the series beside fellow finalists Michael Owen as Doughnuts and opera singer Charlotte Church as Mushroom.
