This Morning fans slam excessive Christmas decor as ITV studio boasts 22 trees
Some viewers have slammed the Christmas decor on ITV's This Morning as "excessive".
Monday's instalment of the show saw Holly Willoughby, who wore a stunning sparkling skirt, expertly use her high heel to rip down a piece of paper that gave way to the lavish festive decorations in the studio.
"Oh, look at this!" her co-host Phillip Schofield said before a stunned Holly looked around and asked: "Oh my gosh, how many trees?"
Phil looked at a piece of paper in his hand as he informed Holly: "There are twenty-two Christmas trees! More than we've ever had before."
The pair then walked over to a life-sized Christmas polar bear that was mechanically operated to move.
Phil later revealed: "We've actually got over 500 pine cones from our own forest in here.
Holly noted the 150 vintage Christmas books up for display as well as the fire mantlepiece that homed their BAFTA and NTA Awards.
Despite the festive fun on the morning talk show, some viewers were not a fan of the "overkill" of decorations, as they pointed out that many families couldn't even afford one tree during the holiday.
"Are we gonna have this Christmas overkill ALL day and it's just too much self-indulgence ThisMorning," one person tweeted, while others voices similar opinions.
Another wrote: "22 Christmas Trees is over the top. I hope 21 are going to be donated to hospitals, children's or old people's homes across the country. #ThisMorning."
A third added: "Gratuitous overkill with the Christmas decorations, sorry it's just not necessary @ITV #ThisMorning."
Someone else echoed: "Do they really need 22 Christmas trees? Talk about excessive when some people can't afford one! #ThisMorning."
However, not everyone was put off by the festive decorations.
One person gushed: "Absolutely adore all the Christmas decorations. The massive polar is adorable. I love him. #ThisMorning Well done to all the props department absolutely incredible."
"#Thismorning Christmas set looks absolutely amazing! Well done. @thismorning," another added.
Meanwhile, Holly kicked off the week on the ITV show looked sensational.
The blonde bombshell opted for a gorgeous sequin silver skirt by high street favourite Zara, pairing the sparkly number with a black high neck jumper by Reserved and embellished Manolo Blahnik court heels.
