Tipping Point host Ben Shephard warned one unlucky contestant to stop making mistakes as they tried to secure a place in the next round.

The popular ITV host warned jackpot hopeful "get your timing right, no mistakes" after she made a series of blunders that had left her with no cash in her pot.

Librarian, Jean, was down to her final counter and desperately needed a cash injection from a counter drop to keep her place in the show.

The unfortunate contestant had already slipped up when she failed to listen to a question in its entirety and incorrectly announced that the word 'four' was an anagram of 'loaf.'

The blunder saw her miss out on adding vital funds to her potential jackpot as she fought to see off her fellow hopeful winners.

She also shocked when she incorrectly answered that classic novel Emma was written by Charlotte Bronte and not Jane Austen, with Ben swiping that she would never live it down with her librarian friends.

Fans on Twitter couldn't believe the mistake as they commented on Jean's unfortunate answers.

One wrote: "Four???????? An anagram of loaf???"

Another added: "Loaf an anagram of four apparently. Who knew. Listen to the questions."

A third social media user tweeted: "Slightly embarrassing for Jean on #TippingPoint tonight. I would have thought a librarian would know that Jane Austen wrote Emma and not Charlotte Bronte."

A fourth said: "How can you mix up the Bronte Sisters with Jane Austen?"

A fifth shocked viewer stated: "Jean works in a library and thinks Charlotte Brontë wrote Emma and an anagram of loaf is four

#TippingPoint."
