TOWIE fans divided as Gemma Collins is awarded most iconic cast member gong
TOWIE aired their reunion special to mark 10 years on the small screen and the cast revived some golden moments from the ITVBe show.
The Only Way is Essex propelled the unknown cast members into household names, including the likes of Mark Wright, Gemma Collins and Pete Wicks.
During the show, there were various awards, including: most romantic moment, biggest argument and an accolade for the most iconic star of the show.
Coming in third for the iconic castmate accolade was glamourpuss Chloe Sims, with Joey Essex coming in second.
Self-proclaimed diva Gemma Collins took home the gong – and her fellow co-stars were happy with the 39-year-old taking the top spot.
Amy Childs chipped in: "To be honest, she is iconic.
However, some viewers of the show were not happy with the result, with many saying the award should have gone to Joey.
One chipped in: "Anyone but Gemma…"
"I wouldn’t say Gemma Collins is iconic, I'd say more Mark Wright," another exclaimed.
While another added: "Chloe Sims is the queen of TOWIE and Joey Essex is the king of TOWIE. End of."
But some viewers were chuffed with the result, with one declaring Gemma is the "queen of TOWIE".
Gemma accepted her award while on a yacht with a pre-recorded message to viewers.
Dressed in an orange bikini, and covering her gorgeous curves with a printed kaftan, Gemma began: "Darlings! It’s me, The GC, on my yacht.

"It’s like an Oscar! I’ve just got the most iconic award. Thank you! If it wasn’t for everyone believing in me, I would not be here today.
"But to be fair guys, we all knew I was an icon," she joked.
The show aired a number of well-loved moments from the show including Mark Wright's dramatic exit, Gemma telling Arg that he was "never going to get this candy" and Jess Wright singing at Nanny Pat's 80th birthday.
