James, 48, was joined by Sir Cliff Richard, 80, to cook the singer his favourite dish of steak and ask him about his life. The interview started with the chef giving the legendary musician a gracious welcome, but it was quite clear he was shocked to have the icon sitting in his kitchen. Trying to make light of his despair, the ITV star jokingly asked his guest why on earth he agreed to let him cook for him.
Just moments into the interview, the chef asked Sir Cliff: “Where did it all go wrong? Do you not think, ‘I’ve taken a wrong turn here?”
The legendary singer took the comments in jest as he laughed off the comical moment before proceeding to speak about his incredible career.
By the time it came to serving up the steam and wild mushrooms for his guest, James was still in utter disbelief.
As the singer tucked into the plate of food bestowed upon him, the culinary genius asked the musician to sign an electric guitar for him.
Doing so with pleasure, the British icon paused eating his meal to write a message his interviewer could treasure forever.
Returning to his steak, the singer then told James he was “speechless” over how well the chef had prepared the meat dish.
Again cracking another joked, the culinary genius told his guest he was as good a singer as he was an actor.
