Who did Tamer Hassan, dad of Love Island's Belle, play in EastEnders?

Love Island star Belle Hassan’s dad Tamer Hassan has hit the headlines after he warned her partner Anton Danyluk to treat his daughter properly.

Speaking to The Sun the 51-year-old vowed he would parachute into the infamous Majorcan villa to have words with Anton if he doesn’t behave.

‘I kept saying, “Anton, I dare you.” I thought, “If you say anything that ain’t true or upset Belle, then mate I am coming in on a helicopter with a parachute and I am picking you up and taking you out,”‘ Tamer told The Sun.

He added that there would be issues if Anton didn’t treat Belle like a queen, adding to the publication: ‘So I’m telling you, Anton, be nice.’

The actor is no stranger to the small screen himself, having starred in some of the biggest shows on TV including Game Of Thrones, Casualty, The Bill, Hotel Babylon and NCIS – as well as a couple of appearances on EastEnders.

But just who did he play in the soap? Here’s what you need to know….

Who did Tamer Hassan play in EastEnders?

Tamer has been in EastEnders twice, in 2001 and again in 2008 in different roles.

In 2001 he played a henchman working for Phil Mitchell – with a brief clip of his appearance, in which he calls round to Phil (Steve McFadden)’s house and is given a gun, leaving as Jamie Mitchell (Jack Ryder) returns to the house.

He was back again at Christmas 2008 as Ahmet, the ex-boyfriend of Suzy Branning (Maggie O’Neill) – who appeared in Walford for several months that year.

The character initially tried to threaten Suzy into returning some gold of his that she had, and she sent Phil to deal with him – with the latter attempting to pay Ahmet to leave by claiming Suzy was pregnant.

However the pregnancy turned out to be a scam, with Ahmet later confronting Suzy and blackmailing her into conning Phil and giving the money to him in order for him to keep quiet about it.

Tamer hasn’t ruled out appearing in the soap again, previously telling OK!: ‘I would go back in an instant.’

Such a move would reunite him with Danny Dyer – whom he previously starred with in the movies The Business and The Football Factory.

When is Love Island on?

Love Island continues on ITV2 on Monday night at 9pm.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays on BBC One at 8pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays on BBC One at 7.30pm.
