But now she's been cast in the role of a lifetime.

Who is Emma Corrin?

Emma is an English actress who has just been cast to play Princess Diana in The Crown.

And as well as her bashful beauty she has the brains to match – having just graduated from Cambridge University.

Emma is a relative newbie with regards to the acting industry.

Her credits include playing Esther Carter in an episode of Grantchester in 2018.

Emma also starred in Misbehaviour and US Batman drama Pennyworth respectively.

How old is Emma Corrin?

Emma is a recent graduate and a youthful 24-years-old.

She may be a relative newbie, but that hasn't stopped her from scooping the prestigious role of Lady Di.

And the talented actress seriously impressed the show's producers.

The Crown's creator, Peter Morgan, said of the actress: "Emma is a brilliant talent who immediately captivated us when she came in for the part of Diana Spencer.

"As well as having the innocence and beauty of a young Diana, she also has, in abundance, the range and complexity to portray an extraordinary woman who went from anonymous teenager to becoming the most iconic woman of her generation."

When will Emma Corrin make her debut on The Crown as Princess Diana?

Emma will make her debut The Crown in season 4.

The fourth series will centre around Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson, and Diana.

An exact air date is yet to be released but it will be in late 2020.
